William E. Shipman, age 91, of Quinton, NJ, passed away Sunday at his home.
Born in Port Deposit, MD, he was the son of William M. and Ella Campbell Shipman. Bill was an instrument mechanic at the E.I. DuPont Chambers Works retiring with 39 years of service. He was a US Coast Guard Veteran. Bill was an avid Boston Red Sox fan who enjoyed old cars and wood working. He was an associate member of the Alloway Township Veterans Association and the VFW Post 253 of Tilbury.
Bill is survived by his sons, Gary Shipman (Shelley) of Alloway and Keith Shipman (Kelly) of Alloway; his daughter, Kim Waddington (Bert) of Mannington; nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his wife, the former Betty Sorrels; his brother, Russell Shipman; and sister, Shirley Pate.
Services will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, June 27th 2025 at WOODSIDE FUNERAL HOME, 613 Salem Quinton Rd., Salem, NJ 08079 (located in Quinton Twp.) where family and friends may call after 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in Lawnside Cemetery, Pilesgrove, NJ. Contributions in Bill's memory may be sent to the Quinton Ambulance Corp., PO Box 257, Quinton, NJ 08072.
