William McDonald, Jr. Obituary


William G. McDonald, Jr. was born on December 23, 1956, to William G. McDonald Sr. and Agnes Wilkie McDonald in Jersey City, NJ.

On June 11, 2022, Bill lost his battle with Liver Cancer and passed peacefully in his sleep at home surrounded by loved ones. Bill was a US Veteran of the Vietnam War.  He served in the United States Air Force, United States Navy Seabees, and the Army National Guard for 17 years. Bill was a West New York Human Services Police Officer and he retired from AC Wagner in Bordentown, NJ as a Sr. Correction Officer. Bill also was a First Responder at 9/11.
He was an avid drummer since the age of eight; Bill also loved to hunt and fish. Besides doing siding work, Bill was a great carpenter, thanks to his grandfather's teachings. Bill made sure to teach his children and grandson these traits as well.  He was a real prankster and loved to make people laugh. He was predeceased by his father, mother, sister, Susan Lynn McDonald-Sesta and grandson Antonio McDonald. 

He leaves behind his loving wife, Debi S. McDonald; his children, Bill McDonald, Christie M. Poore (Scott), Sean W. McDonald (Jenn), Shannon Staats (Bruce), William McDonald (Katia), Erika Phillips (Tony); his bonus daughters, Melissa Schmidt (Louis) and Shelby Sandy; grandchildren, Ryan, Gabriella, Charlie, Jarad, Hayden, Declan, Kora, Kalia, Kai, Kaydence, Liam, Sawyer, Eric, Bella, Dakota and Skylar; and great-grandson, Odin; sisters, Christie Marie Neill (Edward) & Toni Lee Muller (John); also many nieces and nephews.

Bill was a member of the following associations: NJ State PBA #105, Master Mason of Woodstown Masonic Lodge # 138 where he achieved his 32nd degree in the Scottish Rite and was affiliated with the NUR Shrine of Delaware, Joppa Chapter No. 53 Royal Arch Masons, Past Commander D.A.V., Knights of St. Andrew and Olivet Commandery #10. Bill was loved very much and will be missed, till we see each other again my bear! 

Services will be held 12 noon, Friday, June 17th 2022 in WOODSIDE FUNERAL HOME, 613 Salem Quinton Rd., Salem, (Quinton Twp.) where friends may call after 10:00 AM. Interment will be private.
