William (Bill) D Hanby Jr, 52 of Pennsville, N.J. suddenly went home to be with his Lord and Savior on October 3, 2024.
Less than a year ago, Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 17 years, Brenda (Buckingham) Hanby. He was also preceded in death by his father, William D Hanby Sr, his maternal grandparents, Mary Sue and Carl Fahrner and his paternal grandparents, William S and Francis Hanby.
Bill graduated with a degree in sustainable energy from Salem
Community College and attended West Chester University. Bill enjoyed his position in the lab at Delaware City Refinery where he worked for 12 years. He was a beloved member of his work family. Bill had been a long-time caregiver to his wife and was a caring and giving friend to all who knew him. He had been an avid cyclist, enjoyed karate, was fascinated with astronomy, was a Star Wars fan, and liked to teach and play chess. Bill enjoyed going to shows with his mom and Aunt Kathy and especially liked the Chosen series.
Bill is survived by his mother, Elizabeth (Fahrner) Hanby of Lower Alloways Creek, NJ, his sister Susan Fisher Schreck (Sven) of Tega Cay, S.C., stepdaughter Bethany Ward (Matt) of Dover, DE, stepson Scott Ward of Glassboro, NJ, step grandsons Bram and Neko, the Buckingham/Saxvanderweyden family, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, dear friends and his most faithful and beloved dog, Twinkie. Liz and Susan wish to thank the Buckingham/Saxvanderweyden family for their endless help and support, LIz's community at Leisure Arms, Pastor Dan Lapp, Lapp's Market, Open Arms Fellowship Church and Assembly of God Carneys Point.
Friends may greet the family Saturday, October 12th at WOODSIDE FUNERAL HOME, 613 Salem-Quinton Rd Salem, NJ 08079 (Quinton Twp.) from 2:30-3:30 pm with a memorial service to follow at 3:30 pm.
