It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Virginia “Ginny” Pearl Franklin of Canton, on July 3rd, 2025, at the age of 68.
She was a phenomenal daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. She was and always will be known as a woman who was always late and had it her way. Ginny was born in Mannington, NJ on September 12, 1956. She was the daughter of the late Shirley and Charles Kohrherr. Ginny was a graduate of Salem High School Class of 1974. Ginny worked in the Clerk of the Board's office for the County of Salem for 30 years before she retired in 2007. After retirement, Ginny worked for Bud’s Market in Alloway, for Patricia Ayars, who she loved dearly. Ginny had a passion for adventure and doing spontaneous things. Her biggest passion was the Alloway Halloween Parades. Her and her family have a 10 year record of 1st and 2nd Place parade floats, as well as a 3rd place prize in the Vineland Christmas parade in 2019 for their Wizard of Oz Float. Ginny also enjoyed attending the Wildwood, NJ Fireman’s Conventions every year as well. Her most recent adventures were going on cruises with her husband and close friend Dixie. She devoted her life to her family and adored her grandchildren more than anything.
Ginny is predeceased by her parents, Shirley and Charles Kohrherr, her sister and best friend Faye Thomas, her niece Antoinette “Beaver” Curcio, her in-laws, Donald and Delores, Ginger, Helen, Scotty, Charles Franklin and Jeanie and Sam Harris. Also surviving are her siblings, Kathy (Chic) Sunny "Dianne" (Doc), Chris (Debbie) Doug (Lesa), Johnny, Anna, Suzanne, Cheryl and an abundance of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and countless friends that she adored. Additionally, Ginny leaves behind her special friend, more like a sister, Tammy Weatherby that has always been there no matter what.
