Virginia Ahl, age 90, of Salem passed away Saturday, November 12th at her home.
Born in Pennsville, she was the daughter of the late James and Goldie Smith Pentecost. Before her retirement, Mrs. Ahl was a registered nurse for the Salem County Health Department. She was a recipient of the Presidential Award for running the TB Clinic in Salem County. Mrs. Ahl was a pianist and enjoyed sewing. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Salem where she taught Sunday School. Her joy in life was her home in Ocean City where she enjoyed riding the boards for 26 years. Mrs. Ahl is survived by her son, James Ahl (Debra); her daughters, Beverly Boyer and Virginia Jared; her sister-in-law, Betsy Pentecost;12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Mrs. Ahl is predeceased by her husband, George Ahl; her son, George E. Ahl; her daughter, Cindy Ahl; great grandson, Nolan; her brothers, Gerald Pentecost and Kenneth Pentecost.
SERVICES will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, November 18th in WOODSIDE FUNERAL HOME, 613 Salem Quinton Rd., Salem, NJ 08079 (Quinton Twp.) where friends and family may call from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Salem Baptist Cemetery. Contributions in Mrs. Ahl's memory may be made to the Washington Fire Dept., #3, 166 East Broadway, Salem, NJ 08079.
