Timothy Patrick Rust, of Alloway, NJ, passed away on Sunday, November 30. He was born on April 10, 1967, in Toms River, NJ.
Tim was the son of the late Jack and Sheila Rust. He is survived by his daughter Chloe (Joey), son Ethan (Will), brothers Jack (Sonja) and Steve, sister Tara Hannings (Mark), nieces Jaclyn and Sydney, and nephews Devon, Kevin, Jack, and Andrew. Tim was predeceased by his nephew Ryan.
Tim was raised in Alloway, New Jersey, and graduated from Woodstown High School in 1985. He worked for many years as a real estate agent in the South Jersey area. Tim was always willing to help and put others before himself. He will be remembered by his friends and family as ‘MacGyver,’ as he was a true jack-of-all-trades. If not lending a hand, he was providing sage advice. In his younger years, Tim could have been found rock climbing, jumping out of planes, hurling himself down Utah cliffs on skis, diving headfirst on bungee lines, soaking up sun on the Jersey shore, or swinging clubs on the greens. Born a jokester, Tim found great amusement from playing pranks, the most notable being hiding around any corner to jump out with his classic, “HAHHH”.
Tim’s love language was cooking for others. He found great joy experimenting with new recipes, but the most important aspect of his cooking was to share that joy. He could always be found in the kitchen preparing soulful home-cooked meals for his loved ones. His effort was absolutely unmatched. Tim and his cooking will be sorely missed, and no table will be full without him.
Friends and family will be received at Woodside Funeral Home, 613 Salem Quinton Rd., Salem, NJ (located in Quinton Twp.) on Friday, December 5 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, and Saturday, December 6 from 10:00 to 11:00 am, with a Celebration of Life to be held at 11:00 am.
As Tim was an avid blood donor, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory be made to the American Red Cross at the following link: American Red Cross Blood Donor Donation
