Thomas Dudley Hunter, 81, of Lake Worth, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2026.
Born on October 13, 1944, in Salem, New Jersey, Thomas was the beloved son of the late James and Margaret Hunter.
Thomas proudly served as a veteran of the United States Armed Forces, demonstrating a lifelong commitment to service and country. Following his military service, he built a respected career as a
mechanical engineer.
Outside of his professional life, Thomas found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He enjoyed biking, golfing, and spending time with his cherished coffee shop buddies, sharing stories, laughter, and friendship.
Thomas is survived by his daughter, Angela Thomas (née Hunter); his sons, Thomas Hunter and Douglas Hunter; his niece, Margaret Vaughan; and his nephew, Richard Vaughan. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren — Alex, Danielle, Harrison, Nate, Felicia, Thomas, Dana, and Richard — and five great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense pride. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Margaret Hunter; his sister, Sharon Vaughan; and his granddaughter, Eve Hunter.
Thomas will be laid to rest at the Salem County Veterans Cemetery in New Jersey, where he will receive military honors in recognition of his service to his country. A private family service and burial will be held.
