Steven J. Russell, Sr., age 78, of Salem, NJ passed away Wednesday, May 20th at his home.
Born in Salem, he is the son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Stoms Russell. Steven was a US Airforce Veteran during the Vietnam Era. Before his retirement, Steven was an assistant manager for Verizon. He was a member and director of the Salem County Port Authority, a past president of the Fenwick Ambulance, a Red Cross instructor, a member of the Salem Rotary Club and a member of the Salem Fire Department - Washington #3. Steven enjoyed racing hydroplanes in his spare time.
He is survived by his sons, Steven Russell, Jr. of Kenosha, Wisconsin and Jeffery Russell of Lynchburg, Virginia; his daughter, Jenna Lehman (George) of Pedricktown, NJ; brother, Mark Russell (Lori) of Lafayette, Indiana; his grandchildren, Brandon and Johnathan Lehman, Chase and Elizabeth Russell; and his nephews, Alex and Eric Russell and his niece, Karri Crawford. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Barbara Trullender.
Services will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, May 29th 2026 at WOODSIDE FUNERAL HOME, 613 Salem Quinton Rd., Salem, NJ 08079 (located in Quinton Twp.) where family and friends may visit from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Lawnside Cemetery, Pilesgrove.
