In Loving Memory of Sandra Cook Harmer

October 5, 1947 – November 2, 2025

Sandra Cook Harmer, of Salem, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Born in Salem on October 5, 1947, she was the daughter of the late L. Jesse Cook and Evelyn Williams Cook.

A proud graduate of Salem High School, Class of 1965, Sandra lived her life with kindness, warmth, and a deep love for family and friends. She began her career at WSIC Radio Station in Salem, later worked for the Salem County Clerk of the Board and Office, and spent over 30 years with DuPont’s Chambers Works before her retirement.

Sandra’s happiest moments were spent surrounded by those she loved most. For 26 wonderful years, she made cherished memories with her grandchildren at Seaville Shores Campground, where long summer days at Sea Isle Beach became treasured family traditions. She also found great joy in simple pleasure, going out to lunch with her dear friends, sharing laughter, and keeping close to those who filled her life with joy.

Sandra is survived by her devoted daughter, Stephanie Pennington MacIntyre (Spencer), and her loving son, Brian Pennington (Claudia); her grandchildren, Samantha Layton, Lexi Krough (Shawn), and Trent Pennington; and her great-grandchildren, Camren and Charlotte Krough, and Paisley and Colton Layton. She is also survived by her beloved dog Bentley, her sister Janice Wood, brother Donald Cook, and dear friends Kathleen Gairns and Peggy. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Harmer, in 2013.

Sandra will be remembered for her generous heart, her infectious smile, and her unwavering love for her family. Her warmth, laughter, and strength will live on in all who knew and loved her.

A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, November 7th 2025 at WOODSIDE FUNERAL HOME, 613 Salem Quinton Rd., Salem, NJ 08079 (located in Quinton Twp.) where family and friends may visit from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.  Interment will follow at the Canton Baptist Cemetery.
