Ruth (James) Shimp

Ruth Shimp, age 71, of Quinton Twp. passed away Saturday, April 6th at home.

Born in Pueblo, CO, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Sadie Bravo James. Ruth worked at Parker Jewelers for many years before leaving to care for her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing Bunco and was extremely talented at crocheting. Ruth lived for her grandkids. She is survived by her husband, David L. Shimp, Jr.; Her sons, David L. Shimp III (Kristina) of Quinton and Joe Shimp of Quinton; her daughter, Teresa Christoff (John); brother, Albert James (Carol) of Pennsville; grandchildren, Ashleigh O'Neal (Jason), J.R., Nicholas, Cassandra, Alexander, Jacob and Devin; great grandchildren, Haleigh, Malia and Rory. She is predeceased by brothers, Michael James and Ronald James.

Services will be held 4:00 PM, Thursday, April 11th in WOODSIDE FUNERAL HOME, 613 Salem-Quinton Rd., Rt. 49, Quinton Twp. where friends may call between 2:30 and 4:00 PM. Burial will be in Friesburg Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions in Ruth's memory may be sent to Meals on Wheels, 90 Market Street, Salem, NJ 08079 or to the Quinton Ambulance Corp., PO Box 257, Quinton, NJ 08072.
