Russell “Lee” Dickson Sr., age 78, of Pennsville, NJ, passed away on November 26, 2025. Born in Salem, NJ, he was the son of the late Russell Elmer Dickson and Mary Doughty Dickson and the beloved husband of F. Elaine (Gilbert) Dickson, with whom he shared 61 years of marriage.
In his younger years, Lee and his brother Wayne served as volunteer firefighters for Washington Fire Company #3 in Salem. He was a member of VFW Post 253, the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #1966, and a past member of the Salem Boating Club.
Affectionately known as “Lee D” and, most importantly, as “Cool Pop” to his grandchildren and their friends, Lee loved family trips to Wildwood, Disney World & Busch Gardens. He enjoyed going to car shows with his brother, Wayne, taking long walks at Ft. Mott State Park, bird watching, weekly dinners with the gang at Pat’s, and listening to oldies and Frank Sinatra.
In addition to his wife, Lee is survived by his daughter, Sandi Link (Roger); son, Russell Lee Dickson Jr; grandchildren David Link, Stephen Link, Jonathan Link, and Jessica Dickson; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends, all of whom he loved dearly.
In addition to his parents, Lee was predeceased by his brothers, James L. Dickson and Wayne L. Dickson; sister, Graceanne Dickson Jones; and nephew Dan Washinger.
Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 1:00 pm at the Salem VFW Post 253 located at 20 Phillip Drive in Tilbury.
