Russell "Larry" Peterson Jr., 73, of Quinton, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 24, 2020, at Salem Medical Center, Mannington.
The son of the late Russell L. Sr. and Anna (Ahl) Peterson, Larry was born in Salem and a graduate of Salem High School Class of ‘65. Larry worked for New Jersey Bell and later AT&T as a systems technician. He was a member of Quinton Baptist Church where he served faithfully as a deacon and trustee. A charter member of the Mannington Gun Club, Larry was an avid outdoorsman whose favorite pastimes included hunting and fishing. A devoted husband and a beloved dad and “Poppi,” Larry always put his family first. With a smile that could light up a room and a chuckle not easily forgotten, he was a friend to all and will be missed by so many. Larry is survived by his wife, the love of his life for more than 49 years, Diane (D'Angelo); children, Michael Peterson (Trish) of Quinton and Dana McFarland (Philip) of Mullica Hill; sisters, Nancy Peterson of Daretown and Susan Ballenger of Quinton; granddaughters, Taylor, Lexi, Eily, Amelia and great grandson Declan; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held 11 A.M. Tuesday, September 29, 2020 in Salem Baptist Cemetery, York Street, Salem. Contributions in Larry's memory may be made to Quinton Baptist Church, PO Box 6, Quinton, NJ 08072.
