Roy Willis, age 75, of Quinton, passed away on January 28, 2025, after a long battle with cancer.
Born in Salem he was the son of the late Melvin and Sarah (nee Smick) Willis. Roy was a carpenter by trade, but also enjoyed working at the nursery, playing softball in his younger years, hunting and going to the races at Bridgeport, even when he was unable to attend, he looked forward to receiving his race paper. He was always there to help his sons with projects at their homes. Roy loved his wife, and if there was something she wanted, he would build it.
Roy is survived by his wife of 46 years Barbara Bloemer Willis.
Devoted father, father-in-law and grandfather to Ryan and Jodie Willis and their children Seth, Christian, and Amelie and Kevin and Melissa Willis and their children Brian and Kassidy. He is also survived by his brother Bob (Alice), sister Janet (Alvin), his in-law family, the Bloemers, a host of nieces and nephews and his
long time friends, Walt and Sandra Drezgal and their family. He is predeceased in this life by his brothers Bill and Leonard, sisters, Liz, and Marian, daughter-in-law Shannon and his beloved dog Penny.
A Memorial Service will be held 8:00 PM, on Thursday evening, February 6th, at WOODSIDE FUNERAL HOME, 613 Salem Quinton Rd., Salem, NJ 08079 (located in Quinton Twp,) where friends and family may visit from 6:00 PM till time of service.
Interment will be private.
