Ronald P. Livingston, Sr. (Ron), age 80, passed away on February 26, 2025.
Born in Salem, NJ, he was one of three siblings born to the late Bessie (Simpkins) and Phillip Livingston. He is survived by his loving daughters, Jeannette Rayfield (Walt) and Tammy Livingston (John); his former wife and good friend, Elba Livingston; his cherished grandchildren, Michael, Rhyan (Jonah) and Olivia; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his siblings, Phyllis Perry and Charles J. Livingston; and his son Ronald P. Livingston, Jr.
Ron served in the U.S. Navy from 1963-1966 as a member of the Seabees, the Navy’s Construction Battalion, and was stationed in Puerto Rico. After his military service he was a mechanic, truck driver and welder. Beyond his work and service, Ron was an adventurer at heart. He enjoyed camping, hang gliding, woodworking, and even playing the piano and accordion. He also found joy in spending time with family and friends, cooking, listening to country music, dancing and watching westerns. Whether sharing a laugh, riding his scooter around Pennsville or enjoying a tomato sandwich - one of his favorite treats - Ron embraced life’s simple pleasures.
Ron was a selfless and deeply caring person, always giving to others. He never met a stranger, his gift for conversation made everyone feel like a friend. Ron was strong willed and stubborn at times, but he also had an enormous heart. A true original, he was known for his infectious humor and uncanny ability to tell a story or joke that would have you doubled over.
Ron touched so many lives and will forever be missed by those who loved him dearly.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
