Rebecca “Elaine” Cator

Rebecca "Elaine" Cator, age 86, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 15th, 2025 surrounded by family in Lower Alloways Creek.

Born in Crabtree, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Hugh L. and Marjorie (Pressnell) Walker. She was an eventual Pennsville, NJ resident with her loving husband of 51 years, Howard Cator. After raising their family, they retired together and moved to Buxton, NC. Elaine was a homemaker, loved to cook and entertain others, especially family.  Elaine was a member of the Cape Hatteras Baptist Church.  Her love for the Lord was shown throughout her life and the way she lived.  She was a master quilter and known for her beautiful quilts made for the church building fund and for her family and friends. She was a maker of amazing food, Christmas chocolates, breads, and cookies. But most of her love for her family who spent their summers there with them on the beach.

Elaine is survived by her 3 daughters, Deborah Haldeman and husband, Dutch of Pennsville, Brenda Hulmes and her husband, Don of LAC and Margie Craven and her husband, Jim of LAC.  She is also survived by 2 sisters, Jackie Johnson and husband, Rick of Carlisle, PA and Betty Fischels of LAC; 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.  Elaine was predeceased by her husband, Howard Cator and her brothers, Robert and James Walker.

A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 25th, 2025 at Quinton Baptist Church, 46 East Main Street, Quinton, NJ 08072 where family and friends may visit from 10:00 AM until time of service. Donations in Elaine's memory can be made to the Cape Hatteras Baptist Church, 50195 Buccaneer Dr, Frisco, NC 27936.
