Patricia A. (McCarthy) Beavers

Patricia A. McCarthy Beavers, age 80, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 13th 2024 at the Christiana Hospital Hospice Unit.

Born in Salem, NJ on May 20,1944 to the late Charles and Gertrude (Baner) McCarthy. Pat was a Salem High School Graduate, Class of 1962. She worked at Slopey's Jewelry Store for 13 years, the Salem County Vocational School for 26 years and as a secretary for the Zoning Board of Salem City and the Historical Preservation Society for many years. Pat enjoyed spending summers with her family in Wildwood, NJ, going to the beach, eating Mack’s Pizza on the boardwalk, tending to her beautiful garden and reading on the back deck with her pet seagull, Mr. Harry. She loved to paint, crochet blankets, play games and beat her sisters at Scrabble. She always adored cats and found joy in taking in many strays or helping them find their forever homes.
Pat is survived by her Daughter, Kelly Beavers Craner; Grandchildren, Kevin Beavers Jr. (Kelly), Kristin (Louie), Kyle (Liz) and Kelsey Craner; her Great-Grandchildren, Kylie Beavers and Declan Coulter; Sisters, Eileen Lawless (Bob) and Kathleen Gairns; Close friends, Janet Chamberlain, Pauline Rader and Paul Berry. She was predeceased by Sons, Keith Beavers and Kevin Beavers, Sr.; and Brother-In-Law, Duncan Gairns. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 17th in St. Mary's Church, 25 Oak Street, Salem, NJ 08079.  A visitation will be held prior to the Mass from 9:00 till 10:45 AM at WOODSIDE FUNERAL HOME, 613 Salem Quinton Rd., Salem, NJ 08079 (Quinton Twp.) for family and friends.  Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
