Miriam F. Gibison, age 100, of Elsinboro went home to be with the Lord October 5th.
Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late William and Lavania Thompson Fowser. Miriam was a homemaker who was an avid reader and a collector of cut crystal salts. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Miriam was a member of the First Baptist Church of Salem for 66 years where she served as a trustee and taught Sunday School and also a member of the Eastern Star for over 80 years. Miriam is survived by her daughter, Sallie Evans (Lloyd) of Wilmington, DE; daughter-in-law, Peg Gibison of Pennsville; seven grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, John I. Gibison Jr., and her son, John I. Gibison lll.
Services will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 13th with Rev. Dr. Lloyd Evans officiating in THE WOODSIDE FUNERAL HOME, 34 Oak Street, Salem, where friends may call after 1:00 PM. Interment will be private. Contributions in Miriam's memory may be made to Elsinboro Fire Co., 35 Delaware Ave., Salem, NJ 08079.
