Michael (Mike) Brennan (age 69) passed away unexpectedly, yet peacefully in his home surrounded by his spouse and loved ones on December 26, 2022, following a brief illness.
Born on January 11, 1953 in Berwick, Pa., he was the son of the late Thomas M. Brennan and Jean (Butcher) Brennan. He graduated from Saint Francis School of Nursing in North Jersey, and touched the lives of so many people as a Registered Nurse for over 40 years. He retired from the VA Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware in 2019 with his wife, Nancy. They happily spent these last three retirement years laughing and just enjoying life with their many family members and fur babies. Mike was graced with a kind heart of gold and a generous spirit. He was well-respected and revered by his many family, friends, colleagues, and patients. He was also well reserved and quiet, and said no more than needed to be said. He was gifted with a keen inner awareness, a witty sense of humor, and a peaceful charisma. Mike was an avid sports fan and faithfully cheered on Notre Dame, the New York Yankees, the Boston Celtics, and the Dallas Cowboys. He loved vacationing, playing golf, his home, sunrise/sunsets, holidays with family doting over him, vicariously reading his many many books, cheering on his grandchildren, Wawa coffee, string bean casserole, chocolate chip cookies, nonpareils, and blueberry danish.
Mike is survived by his loving and devoted wife Nancy, daughters Rebecca Marquardt and Patricia M. Brennan; son-in-law Thomas Marquardt; grandchildren Isabelle, Jack Michael, and Anna Marquardt. He is also survived by his sisters Colleen Brennan and Theresa Marchikitis, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and pets. He is preceded by his younger brother Thomas Brennan.
Funeral services with a celebration of his life will be held on Monday, January 2, 2023 at Saint Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 25 Oak Street Salem, NJ 08079: Viewing (10:00 AM - 11:00 AM) and Requiem Mass (11:00 AM - 12:00 PM).
