Marion (Evans) Shimp

Marion Evans Shimp, age 91, of Quinton passed away Tuesday, May 2nd at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Michael Baynes.

Born in Shamokin, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Marlond Evans, Sr. and Marion Brierley Evans.  Before her retirement Marion was employed as the treasurer for the Anchor Hocking Credit Union. She enjoyed camping and car shows.  In addition to her daughter and son-in-law, Marion is survived by her sons, Glendon Shimp, Jr. (Bonnie) of Salem, Gary Shimp, Sr. (Judy) of Woodstown, Michael Shimp (Susan) of Quinton and Brian Shimp (Tina) of Palm Beach, Florida; her brother, Marlond Evans, Jr.; her sister, Jean Ridgway; 10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Marion is predeceased by her husband, Glendon Shimp, Sr. and her son, Dennis Shimp.

Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, May 12th in the Salem County Veterans Cemetery, 719 Route 45, Pilesgrove, NJ 08098. Contributions in Marion's memory may be made to the VFW Post 253, 20 Phillip Dr., Salem, NJ 08079.
