Marion T. Johnson, age 82, of Freedom Village, Woodstown passed away Sunday, November 1st.
Born in Clayton, DE, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Mary Watson Sammons. Marion was an accomplished seamstress who taught home economics for the Salem City Schools, taught sewing at the Salem County ARC and, also, sewed for Lord & Taylor as well as several alteration shops. Marion attended the Mount Piscah AME Church and she was a graduate of Delaware State University with a BS degree. She is survived by hers, Anthony Johnson (Lorraine) of Columbia, SC and Aaron Johnson of Salem, NJ; sisters, Ernestine Holden of Dover, DE, Gloria Harrison of Clayton, DE and Cynthia Flannigan of Dover, DE; her grandchildren, Chetia, Tiara, Aarron Jr., Bria and John. Marion is predeceased by her husband, John Henry Johnson; her son, John Henry Johnson, Jr.; and sister, Margaret Burton.
A Visitation will be held Sunday Evening, November 8th, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, in WOODSIDE FUNERAL HOME, 613 Salem-Quinton Rd., Rt. 49, Quinton Twp. Burial will take place 11:00 AM, Monday, November 9th in Byrd AME Cemetery, Clayton, DE.
