Marie (Locuson) Prouse

Marie Prouse, (Age 62), of Lower Alloways Creek, passed away on December 21, 2022 after a courageous 14-month battle with Pancreatic Cancer.

Marie was born on February 22, 1960 in Salem, NJ.  She was the daughter of Ruthann Locuson and the late Samuel Locuson of Pilesgrove.  Marie graduated from Woodstown High School in 1978. She married Jerry Prouse on November 9th, 1986 and they had two children, Jerry Jr. and Lisa. They resided in Lower Alloways Creek, where she became a well-known face in her community.  She worked at the Woodstown Daycare Center for several years, until leaving to raise her children.  Marie began working in the Lower Alloways Creek School Cafeteria in 2003, where she continued to put smiles on staff and students’ faces for 19 years.  She retired in June of 2022. 

 Marie had been a beacon of light to those around her for all of her life. She was active in her Church and her community, and will be missed by many.  Her specialty was sending cards – for all occasions, to all that she knew, and they would always be sealed with a little “Hi
