Margaret Reid Obituary

Margaret Elizabeth Reid (nee Shutt) age 67 of Quinton, NJ passed away March 7, 2022.

She was born in Philadelphia, PA to Thomas and Miriam Shutt and grew up in an old farmhouse with her sister, Sue, and brother, Tom, in Marlton, NJ.  Maggie graduated from Lenape High School in 1973.

Margaret was a beloved Sister, Aunt, and friend.  Maggie is survived by her sister, Susan (Walt) Seibel, nieces & Nephews, Becky (Bob) Langer, Jon (Teresa) Seibel, Aimee Shutt Garcia, Paul Shutt, Todd Shutt and grand nieces and nephews, Kaitie, Emily, and Meghan Langer, Allison, Nathan, and Simon Seibel, Nicholas Garcia, Hayden Shutt, and Noelle Shutt.  She is predeceased by her parents and brother, Tom.

Maggie liked to tell a good story, play card games with her family, travel, and face challenges head on. She also had a deep love for music.  Maggie was part of two bands, West & Multiple Choice with her former husband, Bill Reid; and later sang madrigal and Christmas songs with the Ridgway Singers and her sister, Sue Seibel.

Although Maggie worked in various industries; top 40 band traveling the east coast, loss prevention and managerial positions in retail, and teacher for daycare businesses, her passion and true calling came later in life.   Maggie worked hard and accomplished her dream of obtaining her Master’s in Divinity from Palmer Seminary in 2012 and was appointed the position as pastor for both Quinton United Methodist Church and Hancock's Bridge United Methodist Church.  She put her heart and soul into being their pastor and participated in all the events her churches planned.

Visitation will be held Saturday, March 12, 2022, from 11 am to 12 noon and the service will be held at noon at Woodside Funeral Home, 613 Salem Quinton Rd, Salem, NJ.  A luncheon for family and friends will be held at Hancock's Bridge United Methodist Church immediately following the service.
