Lurene Adele Eller

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Lurene Adele Eller (aka "Lou") who departed this life on 10/19/2025 at Mullica Hill Inspira after a long health battle.  Born on 9/24/1939 at the old Salem Hospital to the parents of Woodrow and Elizabeth Getty Land who resided in Salem County.

Lurene attended the local schools and worked at Anchor Hocking in Salem, NJ in her younger years where she met her husband, Franklin D. Eller.  Later she decided to become a stay at home Mom.

Lurene is survived by her children Wanda Buckalew (Leonard) of Calabash, NC, Frank Eller, Jr., Steven Eller, & Gregory Eller all of Salem, NJ, and Sherri Eller Rook of Murrells Inlet, SC.  She is also survived by her grandchildren,

 Alyssa Buckalew Maher (Devon) of Virginia, Garrett Buckalew (Amanda) of Pennsville, NJ, and Tanner Rook of Murrells Inlet, SC along with great grandchildren, Koltin, Maddox, Karsyn, Michael, and Bennett.

Her surviving siblings are Margaret Carr of Quinton, NJ, Deborah Kohrherr of Salem, NJ, Sheila Cogdill of Penns Grove, NJ, Linda Leal and Robert Land both of Oklahoma along with several nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.

Lurene was predeceased by her husband, Franklin D. Eller in 2006 and also predeceased by siblings, Jeanette Troxel, Alberta MaGee, Roderick Land, William Land, Eddie Land, and Bernadine Berger.

Lurene loved to spend time with her family.  She also enjoyed decorating, cooking, planting flowers, watching her favorite Soaps on TV, and telling her "ghost stories".

Services will be held at WOODSIDE FUNERAL HOME, 613 Salem Quinton Rd. (Rt. 49) Salem, NJ 08079 (located in Quinton Twp.) on Thursday, October 23, 2025 from 10:00-11:00 A.M. followed by her Burial at nearby East View Cemetery in Salem, NJ where she will rest beside her beloved husband, Franklin D. Eller.
