Luke E. Fogg, Sr., age 86, of Lower Alloway's Creek passed away Thursday, August 24th, 2023, in Autumn Lake Rehabilitation Center. Luke was born on March 30th, 1937, to Lewis W. and Amy P. Fogg; he was the oldest of their four children. Luke worked on the family farm milking cows for many years. When he stopped farming, he drove trucks for Strang Transportation, S.J. Transportation and M & J Catalano Farms. After Luke's retirement from truck driving, he was a school bus driver for B.R. Williams as well as a bus driver for Lower Alloway's Creek Twp. taking many township trips. Luke loved race cars and he especially loved watching his son, Luke Jr., race his sprint car at different racetracks. He enjoyed building slot cars and racing them at the Frogg Ocean Speedway. Besides race cars, Luke loved motorcycles, especially his V-65 and Honda Gold Wing. He rode to bike night at Bridgeport Speedway with his son, Lewis, an event he always looked forward to. Luke was blessed with many great neighbors while living at Leisure Arms Complex for 27 years.
He is survived by his children, Wendy Guth (Larry), Lewis (Diana), Douglas (Amy), Luke, Jr. Tina), Janet Cummings (Wilbert), Joel, Jeanne Ridgeway and Jeffrey. Luke was a beloved Pop-pop and Great Pop-pop to 17 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Lois Beal (Harry) and his brother, Carl Fogg (Jane). He was predeceased by his first wife, Nancy in 1963; his brother, John Fogg; daughter-in-law, Lisa Fogg; and son-in-law, Lee Ridgeway.
Services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 23rd, 2023, in Canton Baptist Church, 700 Smick Rd., Salem, NJ 08079 (Canton) where family and friends may visit from
10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will be private.
