On November 1, 2023, Linda Mae Ecret peacefully gained her wings & was called home to be with the Lord, surrounded by her loved ones.
She was happily married to Joseph Ecret, Jr for 47 years. Together, they raised a son, Matthew Joseph Ecret. In 2016, she happily became a "Gammie" (Grandmother) to Carson Matthew Ecret. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Rufus & Ivy Sharp She is survived by her loving sisters, Patricia Northam (Charles) & Barbara Homan (Bill) along with numerous nieces & nephews who all loved "Aunt Linda" very much. She was born in Sickerville, NJ & grew up in Quinton NJ. She attended Salem High School in Salem NJ. In her early adult years, she worked for several newspapers in their clerical departments. After leaving the public workforce, she worked in their home family business, JLM Crabs, where she did everything from paperwork to selling supplies to local crabbers.
While also being a stay at home Mom, she was a caregiver for several children over the years, whose parents could always rest easy knowing their children were in capable & loving hands. Her hobbies & interests included baking, puzzle books & crocheting. Any friend or family member who were having a child could expect a crocheted baby blanket filled with love to be gifted to them.
She loved to talk to & spend time with her family. Anywhere her husband Joe would go, you could expect her to be tagging along to keep him company. She loved & supported her son, Matthew in any and all of his hobbies & interests throughout the years.
Most of all, she loved being a Grandmother to her only Grandson, Carson. She was his primary babysitter from the time he was 3 weeks old & she enjoyed every second of it. She got incredible joy out of getting him his favorite snacks, watching his favorite shows with him, spoiling him in every way she could & most of all, seeing him smile & getting her hugs & kisses from him. Anyone who knew her knew that her heart was full of love. She always put others first & always expressed great love & concern for her family's health & well being. She will be dearly missed & loved by everyone who knew her.
A memorial service in her honor will be held on Saturday, November 18th from 6-9pm at the Lower Alloways Creek Ambulance Hall, 8 Harmersville Pecks Corner Road, Salem NJ 08079
