Kimberley S. Baker, age 63, of Pedricktown, NJ passed away Thursday, December 26th 2024 after a brief illness.
Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late James and Mildred (Parkell) Hopkins. Kim graduated from Salem High School in 1979, studied at Salem Community College and Geneva College and then worked at DuPont as an Administrative Assistant. She was a great mom to her two children and was always making sure they were the most loved and happiest children growing up. Kim was most recently working at Leighton’s Olde Towne Shoppe in Woodstown, where she actually got paid doing what she loved; helping others decorate their home. Besides her love of decorating, Kim loved gardening, scrapbooking and making homemade cards that she would mail to family and friends. From April to September, Kim could be found outside in her beautiful garden and elsewhere around the house caring for her plants and flowers. Kim was a very giving person. She appreciated the beauty of every day. She tried to show love and joy in her daily life, and giving was her way of expressing her love for others. Kim taught us all so much about how to love and how to find beauty in this unfair and imperfect world. Kim was a bright light to all who had the privilege to know her. She is a special lady who was loved and she will be missed.
Kim is an organ and tissue donor, which was her final act of giving. Her liver, right kidney and left kidney were transplanted into a 58 year old female, a 68 year old female and a 62 year old female. Kim was able to give the gift of corneas and other tissues that will save and improve the lives of many others. Kim loves The Lord with her whole heart and soul, and she knows how much HE loves her. The Lord welcomed her Home into His loving arms saying "well done good and faithful servant". She is survived by her husband, Steven Baker and her daughter, Marisa Baker of Pedricktown. Kimberley is predeceased by her son, Brandon Jae Kwan Baker.
A service will be held on January 18, 2025 at Calvary Baptist Church in Penns Grove NJ at 1:00 PM. Following the service, a Celebration of Life will be held at Salem Oak Vineyards in Pedricktown NJ from 2:30 to 5:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salem County Vocational Technical School Educational Foundation where the family has been supporting a memorial scholarship in memory of their son Brandon Baker.
