Obituary

Kenneth Lee Homan, age 91, passed away on May 30th, 2023 surrounded by his family. 

He was a lifetime resident of Quinton. After graduating from Salem High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy Submarine Service serving from 1951 to 1956 during the Korean War. Upon returning home, Ken was the City of Salem Water and Sewer Department Superintendent for 42 years retiring in 1997. Ken was a wealth of knowledge and could fix just about anything. He enjoyed many different hobbies, including snow skiing, water sports and traveling. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. 

In addition to his wife, Shirley of 63 years, he is survived by his children, Garry Homan (Diane) and Bonnie Chappius (Douglas); grandchildren, Ashley Homan, Heather Layman (Scott), Amy Kernan (Kenneth), Jennifer Chappius (fiance, Nick) and Kenneth Homan; and one great-granddaughter, Nora Kate Layman. He was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Claire M. Homan; brothers, Milton and Harold Homan; and sister, Carolyn Pickett; and his good friend, Bill Hassler.

Funeral Services were private. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ken's memory to the Quinton Ambulance Corps, PO Box 257, Quinton, NJ 08072.
