Kathleen Rose (McCaffery) Piperato

Kathleen Rose Piperato, age 85, of Elsinboro Twp. passed away Sunday, August 25th 2024 in Accent Care Hospice, Christiana Medical Center, Newark, DE.  

Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Archie and Kathleen McCaffery.  Before her retirement, Kathleen worked for PSE&G as a librarian.  She earned her Masters Degree in Library Science from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA and she was a member of the Haines Neck United Methodist Church in Mannington Twp.  Kathleen was an avid yard sale seeker and she enjoyed watching the Delaware River from her apartment.

Kathleen is survived by her son, Scott Smith of Gilbert, AZ; stepdaughters, Lisa Magann and Treva Fitzgerald and stepson, James Piperato; her grandchildren, Danielle, Bethany, Liz, John, Melissa and Gemma.  She is predeceased by her husband, James Piperato; her son, Richard Smith and her daughter, Donna Altemus.  

Services will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, August 29th 2024 at WOODSIDE FUNERAL HOME, 613 Salem Quinton Rd., Salem, NJ 08079 (Quinton Twp.) where family and friends may visit from 10:00 to 11:00AM.  Burial will be in Lawnside Cemetery, Pilesgrove, NJ 08098.
