Joseph C. Boon , age 97, also known as the "Clock Man" passed away Saturday, January 25th in Salem Medical Center.
Born in Greenwich, he was the son of the late Edward and Violet Boon. Mr. Boon was a US Army Veteran of WW II, 82nd Airborne, Company B who received the Purple Heart. He also received the American Service Medal, European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, WW II Arrowhead and the Good Conduct Medal. Mr. Boon was proud of his military service. After serving his country, he was employed by Anchor Glass as an Upkeep Man. Mr. Boon is predeceased by his wife, Evelyn Boon; son, Joseph Preston Boon; brother, Preston Boon; sister, Margaret Boon Plummer and his Aunt Jen Hutchinson. He is survived by his dog, Mollie; and several close friends.
Services will be held 10:00 AM, Thursday, January 30th in WOODSIDE FUNERAL HOME, 613 Salem-Quinton Rd., Rt. 49, Quinton Twp. where friends may call from 9:00 to 10:00 AM. Burial will be in Eastview Cemetery, Salem.
