John "Jack" Smith

John "Jack" Smith, age 68, of Lower Alloway Creek passed away Sunday, May 7th 2023 in the Salem Medical Center. 

Born in Mahaney Plane, Pennsylvania, he is the son of the late Daniel Joseph Smith, Jr. and Mary Rose Mclane Smith.  Before his retirement, Jack was a planner for PSE&G and he was previously employed by the E.I. DuPont Chambers Works Fire Department.  Jack was also a member of the Salem County Sportsmen's Club, the Wildlife Turkey Federation and a former member of the LAC Twp. Fire Department.  He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. 

Jack is survived by his wife, the former Terri Brown; his sons, John "Jack" Smith, Jr. (Jaime) of Pedricktown and Sean Smith (Rachel) of Pennsville; brother, Daniel J. Smith III (Stacey) of Gettysburg, PA; sister, Ann C. Smith of Penns Grove; his grandchildren, Coy Smith, Gabbi Smith and Sean Smith, Jr.  In addition to his parents, Jack is predeceased by his sisters, Margaret Griffin and Mary Smith. 

A Service will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, May 15th at WOODSIDE FUNERAL HOME, 613 Salem Quinton Rd., Salem, NJ 08079 (Quinton Twp.) where family and friends may visit from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Lawnside Cemetery, Pilesgrove.
