John "Jack" W. Lacy, age 82, of Alloway, passed away at his home.
Born in Alloway, John grew up in Pole Tavern and was the son of the late Linwood and Lena Loveland Lacy. Mr. Lacy was an auto mechanic who owned and operated Lacy's Gulf in Elmer, NJ. He and his wife, Jennie were faithful supporters of the Elmer and Olivet United Methodist churches until, at which time, they moved to West Virginia for 29 years where they attended the Emmanuel United Methodist Church in West Union. John was an Eagle Scout who enjoyed shooting pool and bowling. He is survived by his son, John Lacy (Maria) of Alloway; his daughter, Cheryl Stiles of Sea Isle; nine grandchildren, Kristin,Jennie, Jess, Colleen, Chad, Kristen, Julie, Josh and Lauren; several great-grandchildren. John is predeceased by his wife, the former Jennie Midili; son, Jerry Stiles Lacy; and brother, Robert Lacy.
Memorial Service will be held 7:00 PM, Wednesday, May 19th in the Olivet United Methodist Church, 933 Centerton Rd., Pittsgrove, NJ 08318. Friends and family may call after 5:00 PM at the church.
