John H. Brooks, age 85, of Alloway passed away Saturday, March 14th 2026 at Inspira Medical Center, Elmer, NJ. Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Edith Niblock Brooks.
Before his retirement, John was an electrician for the E.I. DuPont Chambers Works. He was a member of the Army National Guard. John was a member of the Quinton Baptist Church, the Quinton Sportsman Club and the Roulette Rascals Deer Club. He enjoyed deer and turkey hunting and he had the opportunity to hunt deer in New Zealand. John also loved making birdfeeders, walking sticks and crosses in his wood shop, traveling and listening to Willie Nelson music.
John is survived by his wife, the former Joye Jarden; his sons, David Brooks (Michelle) of Alloway and Matthew Brooks (Julie Ann) of Quinton; sisters, Isabel Locuson of Bellows Creek, NC, Betty Brennan (Richard) of Alloway and Edwina Chew of Quinton; his grandchildren, Jacob, Grace, Ethan, Elijah, Bethany and Aubrey. He is predeceased by his sister, Jennie Williams.
A Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, Monday, March 23rd at Quinton Baptist Church, 46 Main Street, Quinton, NJ 08072 with the Service following at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at the Pittsgrove Baptist Church Cemetery, 368 Daretown Rd., Elmer, NJ 08318.
