Jean (Hart) Smith

Jean H. Smith, age 80, of Alloway, NJ passed away Saturday, August 24th.

Born in Salem Memorial Hospital, she was the daughter of the late Maurice and Ruth West Hart. Before her retirement, Jean was a nurse at the Cumberland County Medical Center in Hopewell, NJ. She loved caring for the elderly and would bring home residents with no family to share holiday meals with her family. Jean loved family, food, and John Wayne. Jean also had a passion for the kitchen, she was an excellent cook and baker. She was always cooking and taking meals to those in need in her hometown of Alloway. Jean is survived by her husband, William Smith; her daughter, Denise Kates (Michael) of Alloway; her stepdaughter, Katrina Foster of Tuckerton; brother, Frank Hart (Joyce) of Alloway; her grandchildren, Dalton, Louis and Donald; and four great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her daughter, Tammy Davis; brother, William Hart; and sister, Patricia Parave.
