Jane (Maier) Bell

Jane Maier Bell, 86, of West Chester, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2025. 

Born in Bridgeton, New Jersey on May 15, 1938 to the late Mabel and C. Norman Maier, Jane grew up in Alloway, New Jersey and graduated from Woodstown High School in 1956. She received her Associates Degree in Secretarial Science from Goldey Beacom College in 1958. She spent more than 25 years as administrative assistant at Quinton Township Elementary School in Quinton Township, New Jersey where she resided most of her adult life. Jane also served as  secretary for the Planning Board of the township of Quinton for a number of years. Jane loved to play cards, especially pinochle. She also loved to travel visiting Canada, Italy and England as well as many places within the United States including Alaska and Hawaii. One of her favorite places was spending wonderful summers with her family in Cape May, New Jersey.  She was an avid reader and crocheter. She loved everything about her grandchildren. 

Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Robert with whom they shared more than 35 years of marriage.  She is survived by her son Michael and wife Lisa of Kennett Square, Pennsylvania as well as her son Daryl and his wife Jennifer of Stephen City, Virginia, and her four grandchildren: Jonathan, Amanda, Jedidiah and MacKenna Bell. Jane will be remembered for her kindness, wonderful sense of humor and love for her family. Her kindness and repartee were gifts to everyone who knew her. 

Services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 12th at WOODSIDE FUNERAL HOME, 613 Salem Quinton Rd., Salem, NJ 08079 (located in Quinton Twp.) where family and friends may visit from 10:00 AM until time of service.  Burial will be in Lawnside Cemetery, Pilesgrove, NJ 08098.
