Henry Bowen "Bo" Greever, III Obituary

Henry Bowen "Bo" Greever III , 71 of Alloway passed peacefully at home.  Born in Radford, VA his family moved to Woodstown when he was a young child.  Survived by his wife, Candy (Andrea); two sons, J. Christopher (Rebecca) of Woodstown and Matthew Bowen, aka 'Little BoBo'; brothers, Kenneth (Judith) of Landenburg, Pa and Michael of Marshall, MO; sister, Gail Hampton ( Keith) of Elsinboro; and his life long friend, Wayne Wentzell (Marlene) of Pilesgrove.

He was predeceased by his parents, Henry B. Greever, Jr. and Helen Vernon Harris; his in-laws, John H. and Emma L. Blew.  Bo was a 1967 graduate of Woodstown High School. He worked for the DuPont Company  and the Chemours Company as a lab tech, retiring from the Chambers Works plant after more than 50 years of service in 2018. For many of those years, Bo was responsible for the telecommunications infrastructure at Chambers Works. He was known throughout the plant for his knowledge and dedication to plant operations.

He was a Vietnam Navy Veteran who served on the USS Kitty Hawk as an aviation electronic technician working on the RA5  Vigilante aircraft. One of Bo’s legacies was his involvement with Daretown Boy Scout Troop 60.  Bo became active when his son joined the troops and was soon asked to take on the role of assistant scoutmaster.  He provided guidance to the boys on many trips, including summer camp at Camp Roosevelt, and visits to the battlefield at Gettysburg Pa.  One highlight of these trips was his famous Dutch-oven peach cobbler, a crowd favorite. Bo’s most cherished memories was his involved role as leader on the treks through Philmont Scout Ranch in NM.  He made the trip three times and always talked of going back.  Troop 60 will miss his leadership and enthusiasm. Bo also enjoyed sand sculpting at the Jersey Shore, baking and his flowers. He loved spending time at  Longwood Gardens taking in all the flowers especially the orchids.
