Obituary


Henry William (Bill) Howell, age 87, of Quinton passed away Wednesday, August the 4th in Cooper University Medical Center , Camden. 

Born in Quinton, he was the son of the late Henry Robert and Nora Lykens Howell.  Bill was employed as a carpenter for E.I. DuPont Chambers Works.  He was a life-exempt member of the Quinton Fire Department, a member of the Quinton Ambulance Corp., the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #1966, the Quinton Sportsmen's Club and a member of the National Rifle Association.  Bill enjoyed Blue Grass music, traveling, his cats and he was an avid reader. 

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Howell, his children, Joyce Booth, Joanne Papa (William) and Judith Howell (Thomas Martin), David Whitner (Connie), Teri Whitner Cassidy (Merrill), Mary Lou Foote (Ronald Gregory) and Keith Asher (Janet); sister, Donna Hemple and sister-in-law, Alice Howell; his grandchildren, Brandy Smigelski (Matt), Merill Cassady, Jr., Leanne Weinstein (Glenn), David Foote (Kari), Joshua Foote (Renee), Jessica Bishop (Kevin), Ana Cubi (Joseph), Wesley Asher (Aryn) and Tiffany Kalish (Alex); 12 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.  Bill is predeceased by his former wife, Jane (Whitner) Howell; brother, Carl Howell; son-in-law, Kevin Booth, Sr.; grandsons, Kevin Booth, Jr. and Brandon Asher. 

Services will be private.  Contributions in Bill's memory may be made to the Quinton Ambulance Corp., PO Box 257,Quinton, NJ 08072 or to the Quinton Fire Co., PO Box 42, Quinton, NJ 8072.
