Harry J. Ricketts, age 79, of Quinton, passed away Sunday, August 8th in Golden Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Mannington.
Born in Salem, he was the son of the late William and Virgina Ivans Ricketts. Mr. Ricketts was a police officer and investigator for the Brush, Colorado Police Dept. for 12 years. Before his retirement, Harry was a truck driver who worked for Lacy's Express in Pedricktown, NJ. He attended the Quinton United Methodist Church. Harry enjoyed hunting, fishing and he loved motorcycles. He is survived by his wife, Beatrice Wood; his son, David Ricketts (Linda) of Pennsville; his daughter, Darlena Gebauer; brothers, Melvin, Carl, John and Michael; sisters, Virginia Velazuaz, Violetta York, Nina Faye Murray, Nancy K. Goland, Teresa Scardino; grandchildren, Craig, Kevin and Candance Gebauer and Ryan Ricketts; a few great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Harry is predeceased by his brother, William Ricketts; sisters, Emma Lowe, Lavina Gates, Taloma Emmons, Grace Jordon and Barbara Schneller.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, August 13th, WOODSIDE FUNERAL HOME, 613 Salem Quinton Rd., Salem, NJ 08079 (Quinton Twp.) where friends and family may call after 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Harry's memory may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association, 425 Eagle Rock Ave., #203, Roseland, NJ 07068.
