Frederick (Rick) L. Weisgerber, Jr., age 80, of Alloway, NJ passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2025.
Born in Salem, NJ, he was the son of the late Frederick L. Sr., and Annabelle Cokar Weisgerber. Before his retirement, Rick was an electrician for E.I. DuPont Chambers Works. He was a US Navy Veteran who had the following assignments: 1965 - Bootcamp, Great Lakes, Illinois, USS Beale - DD471; 1966 - Electrician School; 1967-1969 USS Saratoga - CVA-60; 1971 - Sailor of the Year; 1971-1979 - USS Johnson, USS Spiegel Grove - LSD, USS Spartanburg County - LST, USS Sierra - Destroyer Tender, USS Pudget Sound - Destroyer; 1980-1991 - Received Direct Commission as Ensign, USS Yellowstone, Reassigned to Direct Support of US Navy SIMA's - (Shore Intermediate Maintenance Activity), Norfolk, VA, Orange, TX Philadelphia, PA, Submarine Rescue Ship Support. Rick was a member of American Legion, Amvets, Fleet Reserve, NERA, Salem County Veterans Advisory Board, Alloway Twp. Fire Company, Lower Alloway's Creek Fire Company, Salem County Water Rescue Team, Salem County Fireman's Association, the Salem City Union Fire Company, Together With Veterans and the Board of Directors of Salem County Vo-Tech, the Collingswood Masonic Lodge #101 and the Buckshorn Sportsmans Club.
Rick is survived by his wife, the former Becky Barger of Alloway; his daughter, Jaime Pedersen of Trenton, FL; half-sister, Claudia Penn of Salem, NJ; his grandchildren, Hunter Purtlebaugh, Eli Pedersen and Amber Wood (DJ); his great grandson, Caysen; and his nephew, James Sekcienski, Sr. of Ellenton, FL. Rick is predeceased by his sister, Patricia Robinson.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
