Frank T. Pompper, age 71, of Lower Alloways Creek, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 6th, 2024, at Cooper University Hospital, Camden, NJ, surrounded by family, after a very brief battle with illness.
Born in Salem, NJ, he was the son of the late Francis “Bud” and Helen McAllister Pompper. Before his retirement, he proudly served his community as Chief of Police with the Lower Alloways Creek Police Department. Then went to the Salem County Corrections Facility. He was a member of the Salem County FOP Old Oak Lodge 6, and previously a member of the Longhorn Deer Club. He was a regular attendee of Sharptown Church. Frank enjoyed day trips to Cape May with his wife, tending to his yard, woodworking in his shop, doing a word find, spending time with his family, and playing with his cat, Max. He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan. Frank led a life of strong faith, and was always willing to help someone.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon (nee Brown); his daughter, Heather Leonardi (David) of Glassboro; his son, Ryan of Salem; his brother, Larry Pompper (Linda) of Mannington; his sister-in-law, Terri Smith of Lower Alloways Creek; his niece and nephews. He is predeceased by his sister, Susan Serfass.
A Graveside Service will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, October 11th, at Canton Baptist Cemetery, 700 Smick Rd., Salem, NJ 08079 (Canton, LAC Twp.)
