Everett L. Clour, age 87, passed early Wednesday morning in his home after an extended illness.
He had been lovingly cared for in his home for the last several months as his health deteriorated by his family and caregiver, whom he grew close to, Samantha. He was born Stow Creek and spent his early years on the family farm in Lower Alloway’s Creek. As a teenager he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. It was through his enlisted time that he met his wife of nearly 50 years, Debbie Clour, while stationed in Maine. After his time of service he worked for Mannington Mills, sold appliances, delivered milk for Shoemaker Dairy and spent the bulk of his working years selling insurance for Prudential. It was during this season that he qualified annually for conference and took the family on vacations around the country. He loved to garden and was an avid golfer until his health prevented him from doing so in recent years. For many years he raised cows, pigs, chickens and other livestock on the farm on Hellneck Road. He enjoyed playing Pinochle and poker with family and friends. For years he was a fan of Philadelphia sports teams. He loved to go for car rides and just see the familiar sites.
He is predeceased by both parents, his wife Debbie Clour (Bowie), brother Jimmy Clour, sister Barbara “Bobbi” Green, and half-sister Diane Clour. He is survived by three children Cheryl Franklin, Kevin Clour (Linda) both of Lower Alloways’s Creek and Randy Clour (Judy) of Ohio. He is also survived by the following siblings Ronald Clour, Patsy Datz, Johhny Clour, Brenda Clour, Jimmy Lou Clour, Kenny Clour. He has seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and four great-great children (with one on the way).
Services will be held 11AM Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at Canton United Methodist Church, 918 Main St., Canton/Salem, NJ, 08079. Family and friends may call from 10AM-11AM. Burial will follow at Canton Baptist Church Cemetery.
