Edward Curriden Obituary


Edward F. Curriden, age 77, of Mannington passed away Saturday, September 12th at his home. 

Born in Salem, he is the son of Edna Chester Curriden and the late Joe Curriden.  He was a dispatcher for the Salem County Call Board.  Ed was a retired Army veteran who served in Vietnam and received the National Defense Service Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Vietnam Service Medal and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.  He was a member and past commander of the VFW Post 253 Tilbury, a member of the American Legion, a lifetime member of the Mannington Fire Co.  Ed loved Penn State football and was an avid hunter and fisherman.   In addition to his mother, Ed is survived by his son, Keith Curriden of Bel Aire, MD; his daughter, Melynda Curriden Parks  and her husband Todd of Charlottesville, VA;  his former wife, Frances Dee Curriden; brother, Herbert Curriden of Baltimore, MD; grandchildren, Gabrille Ryan Curriden, Brady Edward Curriden and Taylor Parks; nephews, Mark Curriden, Doug Curriden and Jason Curriden. 

Services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 19th in WOODSIDE FUNERAL HOME, 613 Salem-Quinton Rd., Rt. 49, Quinton Twp. where friends may call after 10:00 AM.  Burial will be in Sharptown Methodist Cemetery.  Contributions in Ed's memory may be made to the Firefighters Fund of Fairfax County, P.O. Box 401, Fairfax, VA 22038.
