Edna Chester Curriden, age 99, of Mannington passed away Saturday, July 29, 2023. Born in Sharptown, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Flora Chester. Edna joined Quinton Baptist Church in 1960. She belonged to the Missionary Society, camped with the Geriatrics Jubilee, assisted with VBS, and taught Sunday School and Pioneer Girls. She was an avid quilter and co-founder of the The Unique Quilters. After 24 years of service, Edna retired from E.I. DuPont Chambers Works in 1982. After retirement, Edna delivered food for Meals on Wheels, knitted hats for newborn babies, and crocheted lap blankets and slippers for veterans at the VA Hospital and senior citizens living in assisted living. Edna and Joe celebrated 67 years of marriage in 2008. Edna is survived by her son, Herbert G. Curriden of London, KY; five grandchildren, Mark Curriden, Douglas Curriden, Melynda Curriden Parks, Keith Curriden, and Jason Curriden. Edna had four great grandchildren, Darby Curriden, Taylor Parks, Gabrielle Curriden, and Brady Curriden. She is predeceased by husband, Francis "Joe" Curriden; son, Edward F. Curriden; and sister, Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Williams.
Services will be held Saturday, August 5, 11:00 AM, at WOODSIDE FUNERAL HOME, 613 Salem Quinton Rd., Salem, NJ 08079 (Quinton Twp.) where family and friends may visit from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
Interment will be at Sharptown Methodist Cemetery.
