Donald L. Sherman

Donald L. Sherman, age 86, of Pennsville, formerly of Alloway, passed away Friday, August 16th 2024 at Autumn Lake Healthcare Center at Southgate, Carneys Point.

Born in Salem, NJ, he was the son of the late Russell and Esther Corson Sherman. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving from 1957 to 1959.  Before retirement, Donald was a pipefitter for E.I. DuPont Chambers Works.  He was a member and former president of the Alloway Twp. School Board, a member and past president of the Alloway Ruritan Club, a member of the Alloway Volunteer Fire Dept. and the Alloway United Methodist Church where he served on the Board of Deacons. Donald also had been a camp ranger at Camp Edge in Alloway. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan with the Phillies being his favorite team. Donald enjoyed attending all of his kids' activities as well as his grandkids.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Sherman; his son, Steven Sherman (Starr) of Buena; his daughters, Linda Dorrell (Sean) of Garnet Valley, PA and Tracy Westergard (Raymond) of Quinton; brother, Russell Sherman of Pennsville; his grandchildren, Lauren, Alex, Courtney, Megan, Kyle and Bridget; his great-grandchildren, Zoey and Jack. He is predeceased by his sister, Jeanette .

A Service will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, August 20th at WOODSIDE FUNERAL HOME, 613 Salem Quinton Rd., Salem, NJ 08079 (Quinton Twp.) where a visitation will also be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM for family and friends. Burial is at Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro, NJ.
