On Wednesday, October 29, 2025, Dale Leonard Fox of Garden Spot Village, New Holland, Pennsylvania, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, whom he loved and served.
Dale was born on August 7, 1934, in Salem, New Jersey, to Gertrude (Miller) and Milton George Fox. He spent his childhood in Salem, delivering newspapers by bicycle, and was active in Sunday school and youth group.
A 1952 graduate of Salem High School, Dale sang in the glee club, played tuba in the band and American Legion Band, and was catcher on the baseball team. He began working for Acme Markets while still in school and, after graduation, became a full-time employee, eventually serving as store superintendent in 1965.
Dale met the love of his life, Patricia Nixon, at Quinton Baptist Church — the same church where he was baptized and where they were married. The two were married in 1955 and built a life centered on faith, family, and service. He led and sang in the choir at Quinton Baptist Church, served as Sunday School Superintendent for more than 40 years, was a deacon, and led the congregation in song every Sunday. Together with his wife Patricia, he founded Christian Classics, a ministry they faithfully led for 10 years.
He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1957, serving two years as a truck driver in Georgia and Missouri. After returning home, Dale and Patricia settled in Quinton, where they raised their two sons, Brian and Timothy. Following his retirement from Acme, Dale operated an Archway Cookie franchise for 13 years and became affectionately known as “the Cookie Man.”
For over 40 years, Dale traveled and sang with the Harbor Lights Quartet, sharing the gospel through music across countless churches and communities. The group made numerous recordings—records, tapes, and CDs—and Dale wrote more than 100 songs of his own, many of which they performed. Known for his joyful spirit, he could always be counted on to share a story, tell a joke, or break into song—bringing laughter and light to everyone he met. Fittingly, his senior yearbook captured that spirit with the words, “Only happy when singing his lungs out.”
In 2008, Dale and Patricia moved to Garden Spot Village, where they became charter members of the Community Church and continued to serve faithfully in their church and community. Dale served as song leader at the church and established the Hymn Sing, which he directed for 10 years. A devoted volunteer in countless ways, he continued to serve faithfully, bringing warmth and joy to all around him. He was deeply thankful for his family—his devoted wife Patricia, their two sons, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren—and for God’s faithfulness throughout his life.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 70 years, Patricia Nixon Fox; two sons, Brian Paul Fox (Susan) of Russellville, Kentucky, and Timothy Dale Fox (Sue) of Quinton, New Jersey; four grandchildren, Erica Fox (Jason), Sarah Fox, Jason Fox, and Jeffrey Fox (Logan); two great-grandsons, Cole and Parker; his sister, Janet Buell; and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Community Church at Garden Spot Village on Sunday, November 2, at 2PM.
A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 8th at Quinton Baptist Church, 46 Main Street, Quinton, NJ 08072 where family and friends may visit from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
Interment will follow at Salem Baptist Cemetery.
