Constance “Connie” V. Calkins

Constance V. "Connie" Calkins, age 83, of Salem, NJ passed away Saturday, January 14th 2023 in Merion Gardens, Carneys Point, NJ. 

Born in New York City, she is the daughter of the late Floyd and Josephine Twentyman Calkins.  Connie was a 1957 graduate of Cortland High School, Cortland, NY and received her BA Degree in Education from Marywood College, Scranton, PA in 1961.  Connie was a teacher for 34 years in the Salem City School District, before her retirement in 1995.  She was a dedicated teacher and Connie was loved by her many students.  She was a true animal lover and adored her cats, Lily and Herman.  Connie enjoyed traveling to Foreign Countries and cruising to the Caribbean Islands.  She is survived by several cousins and a host of friends who will miss her dearly. 

Burial will be private in Cortland, NY.  In remembrance of Connie, donations can be sent to The Salem County Humane Society, N. Game Creek Rd., PO Box 214, Carneys Point, NJ 08069.
