Claire J. Heil, age 88, of Alloway, passed away peacefully with her family by her side Saturday, December 28th 2024 in Inspira Medical Center, Elmer, NJ.
Claire was born in Bridgeton, NJ on July 24, 1936 and was the daughter of the late Oscar Johnson and Mae Henderson Johnson. Claire graduated from Bridgeton High School in 1954. Before her retirement, Claire worked for Shoemaker Dairies in Bridgeton and was the secretary for the Penns Grove - Carneys Point Regional School District from 1979 to 1995. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and loved spending her summers in Ocean City, NJ. Claire was very close to her sister Diane. Her grandchildren became her focus and meant everything to her. Claire loved to travel and returned just days ago from a 3 week trip visiting her son and granddaughter in Georgia and her 4 month old great grandchild in Louisiana. She is survived by her son, Brian Heil (Nathalie) of Gainesville, GA; her daughter, Dawn Clifford (Phil) of Mullica Hill, NJ; her sister, Diane Herrman of Magnolia, NJ; her grandchildren, Emilie Heil, Julie Heil and Kyle Loveland (Alyssa); and her great grandchild, Kora Loveland. Claire is predeceased by her husband, Wayne L. Heil.
Services will be held at WOODSIDE FUNERAL HOME, 613 Salem Quinton Rd., Salem, NJ 08079 (Quinton Twp.) on Thursday, January 2, 2025. Family and friends may visit from 10:00 to 11:00 AM and service will be held 11:00 AM. Directly following the service, the burial will be in the Aldine United Methodist Church Cemetery, 780 Friesburg Aldine Rd., Elmer, NJ 08318.
