Charles B. Harris, Jr. "Brud",age 86, of Quinton, passed away Thursday, August 12th, 2021 in Inspira Medical Center, Vineland.
Born in Quinton, he was the son of the late Charles and Mary Smith Harris, Sr. Brud was a lifelong Quinton resident. Following his 8th grade graduation, he worked full time on the 100 acre family farm to help his parents. Later he became employed by E.I. DuPont Co. Chambers Works, where he was a sandblast painter for 30 years until he retired. He attended the Rosenhayn United Methodist Church and was a member of the Happy Jacks Gun Club, the Old Boys Club, the Mannington Swim Club, and The National Rifle Association. Brud was a lifelong farmer- from being born on the Harris family farm to growing produce to run his own stand, Brud was always farming. He loved living a simple life. Brud was an avid hunter and muskrat trapper. He enjoyed trips to Lancaster, PA and to the Shur Shot Gun Club mountain in Tioga, PA. His family will forever remember him as a wonderful father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his daughter, Susan Sharp (Linwood Jr.) of Hopewell; daughter-in-law Denise Harris of Quinton, his grandchildren, Lindsay Fiorani (James), Linwood Sharp III (Christine) of Alloway Twp, Stephen Walter (Nicole) of Tennessee, Shannon Perry of Oldsman Twp, Charles Harris IV "Chip" (Dana) of Georgia, and Carl John (Samantha) of Franklin Twp; great-grandchildren, Coen & Crew Fiorani, Jace, Ashley & Carloyn Walter, Alan, Lee & Maisyn Perry, Dakota, Cameron & Adalyn Harris, and John, Colton & Bryce Harris. Brud is predeceased by his wife, Carolyn Harvey Harris; his sons, Carl John "Teddy" Harris and Charles "Skipper" Harris III, and his sister, Florence Parris.
Services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 21st in WOODSIDE FUNERAL HOME, 613 Salem Quinton Rd., Salem, NJ 08079 (Quinton Twp.) where friends may call after 10:00 AM. The burial will take place privately at the convenience of the family.
