Charles “Bruce” Orton

Charles "Bruce" Orton, age 79, of Salem, NJ passed away Tuesday, June 10th 2025 in Cooper Hospital / University Medical Center, Camden, NJ.

Born in Salem, he is the son of the late Erby and Maggie Frazier Orton.  Before retirement, Bruce was a stock handler for PSE&G.  He was a member of the Washington Fire Company No. 3 of Salem and a social member of the VFW Post 253 of Tilbury.  Bruce was a Eagles, Phillies and Nascar fan who enjoyed the South Jersey Shore, especially camping at Cape May and going on his annual fishing trips.  He is survived by his son, Kevin Orton (Laura Bardi) of Englewood, FL; his brother, James Orton (Donna) of Hopewell, NJ; his grandchildren, Tori Orton and Lauren Orton; and his great grandchildren, Leanna Marie and Abygail Virginia.

Graveside Services will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, June 16th 2025 at the Salem Baptist Cemetery, York St., Salem, NJ 08079. 
 

Following the graveside service a luncheon will be held at the VFW Post 253, 20 Phillip Drive, Salem, NJ 08079 (located in Elsinboro Twp.).
