Carl Albert Ballentine, Sr., who was born on May 20th 1941, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family Friday, August 27th 2021 after fighting his battle with cancer.
Carl was a U.S. Veteran who was in the U.S. Coast Guard serving 1959-1969 and he retired from the U.S. Army Reserves serving 1979-1992. He was deployed to Cape May Search & Rescue (SAR), Acushnet Tug Boat International Ice Patrol, Antarctica, New Zealand, Australia, Fiji Islands, American Samoa, Panama, Tasmania, Pitcairn Island, Portland Maine, Cuban Crisis & Homeland Security. First Class Staff Sgt (E-6), he was a Proud Veteran and before his death he was honored and awarded a Veteran's Certificate, Pinned and given an Honorable Veteran's Coin. He was employed by Gaynor Glass over 20 years and Aluchem over 25 years till he retired. Carl enjoyed spending time with his family, foster parenting, camping, riding bikes, photography, tying specialty knots, woodcrafting and working in his yard. He took pride in everything he did. Carl lived in Schuyler, Virginia on Walton's Mountain for over 20 years after he retired. He is survived by his wife, Roxine (Beamer) of 30 years, his loving daughter, Lisa A. Ballentine - Cagle; his sons, Carl A. Ballentine, Jr. and Walter B. Ballentine; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; step-children, Kimberly Beamer-Venuto, Richard Beamer, Alan Beamer and Priscilla Beamer; his sister, Caroline Laspee; and brother, George Ballentine. Carl is predeceased by his loving son, Steven Ray Ballentine; sister, Rhoda Splett; and Aunt Charlotte Ballentine.
A Military Service will be held 11:00 AM, at the Salem County Cemetery, 719 Rt. 45, Pilesgrove, NJ on Wednesday, September 22nd.
