Betty Jane Pentecost, age 93, of Lower Alloway's Creek passed away, surrounded by her family, on Friday, February 9th 2024 in Inspira Medical Center, Mannington.
Born in Salem, she is the daughter of the late Edwin and Dorothy Nittinger Ridgway. Betty was a secretary for the Rutgers Extension Service. She was a member of the 1947 Class of Salem High School where she served as class treasurer. Betty was a former Mrs. LAC Sportsman's Show winner and a member of the "Hen Party." She enjoyed dancing and loved spending time with her kids and grandkids. Betty is survived by her daughters, Sandra Collins (George) of Polo, Missouri and Dottie Coleman (Skip) of Lower Alloway's Creek; six grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband, Gerald W. Pentecost; brothers, Edwin Ridgway and Lee Ridgway; and her sister, Lois Huff.
Services will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, February 15th 2024 at WOODSIDE FUNERAL HOME, 613 Salem Quinton Rd., Salem, NJ 08079 (Quinton Twp.) where family and friends may visit from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Burial will take place at the Salem County Veterans Cemetery, 719 NJ-45, Pilesgrove, NJ 08098.
